Registry cleaners don’t work – and here’s why

What are registry cleaners and why is there such a big hype about them when people are talking about trying to make their computers faster? A registry is an area on your computer that is like a database that stores all of the configurations for your computers operating system and all of the programs and applications that are on your computer. What happens when a program changes is that the registry changes and sometimes the older registry doesn't change. This in time will cause a lot of unused registry's to build up on your computer and can slow it down.

The big question is, why are registry cleaners important? Well the idea is that registry cleaners will clean up all of the redundant registry's on your computer. Technically they are just taking up space and not doing anything for your computer, if anything they are slowing it down. So, the more of these registry cleaners that your remove the faster that your computer will run. Well, that's the idea behind this theory, but in practicality, anyone that has actually used a registry cleaner knows that the difference in speed on your computer is very minimal.

What most people don't know is that cleaning up your registry will not make your computer super fast. What will happen is that your computer will become a tiny bit faster - so tiny that you most likely will not even notice a difference. If you are lucky you might save a few seconds here and there, but don't buy into the hype that is going on. What the registry cleaners companies and computer geeks don't tell you is that using registry cleaners to clean up your computer only cleans up small portions of your computer.

See, making your computer faster requires you to work on different parts of your computer like doing tweaks to the operating system and manually cleaning out certain parts. Using registry cleaners is like having a whole house to clean and all you are doing is just focusing on cleaning out the kitchen table - sure the kitchen table will be really neat and tidy, but the rest of the whole house is dirty and overall your house will have a dirty messy look to it.

The real question here is: should you stop using registry cleaners all together? No. Cleaning out your registry will make your computer a little bit faster and what you want is to made many different areas of your computer faster so that the overall picture in the end will be that your computer will run faster due to this build up of efficient parts. I don't suggest paying for a registry cleaner which is why I am recommending the main one that I use - Ccleaner. Just do a Google search for it. Once you have the program installed just run a scan and it will clean out all of the inefficient area's of your computer. It also doubles as a nice all purpose cleaner on the home screen so feel free to also use that.
